"LAWD MI DEAD"
(How Andar Came to Be)​

In a busy seaside town in the Caribbean, sandwiched between the main road and the local hospital, there stands a cozy bakery with a small shop. Right above the shop lived a large Chinese family who cared for the bakery and sold bread to the local passers-by. This is where Anna “Babsy” Chin Casey was born, raised, and started a family with her husband, Darren Casey. As their children grew and played on the veranda above the bakery, three things were constant: the smell of freshly baked bread, thumping reggae music from a nearby bar, and a view of people coming and going from the hospital, “Lawd Mi Dead,” as it was (sometimes accurately) named by locals.
From a lifetime spent watching the hospital, Anna and Darren knew their community deserved better. They saw the need for better facilities, better equipment, and better support and so they made it their mission to elevate healthcare in the Caribbean Community. The early days were spent visiting each island by sea and by foot, from the biggest like Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Cayman Islands, down to the smallest, like Saba and Montserrat.
In 2004, in order to best serve the Caribbean with comprehensive and competitive shipping and transportation services, Andar set up operations in the "Gateway to the Caribbean:" Miami, Florida. This positioned Andar to work with the highest quality manufacturers of medical equipment as exclusive representatives in the Caribbean, which today, continues to allow Andar to deliver the highest level of service, repairs, technical configuration, and equipment planning at the lowest price possible.

Our mission is to provide our Caribbean clients access to the very best medical technology and cost-effective medical products available. We bring a unique focus, perspective, and passion to the Caribbean and a successful track record of selling and servicing capital medical equipment.

Our purpose is to succeed through an understanding of the needs of our clients and to partner with them to improve the health and well-being of their patients and communities.
OUR CUSTOMERS
We sell to healthcare professionals in both the public and private sectors. We also work with governments, regional health authorities, international aid agencies and other funding organizations involved in healthcare projects within the region.

Andar International works exclusively in the Caribbean, serving all the CARICOM Member and Associate Member States including Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands, as well as Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius, Saba, and the US Virgin Islands.
OUR FUTURE

In 2019, Andar International expanded into the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic, and will soon be launching an online store. Through these new opportunities, we will continue to offer the same exemplary service, quality products and excellent value to our customers.
