Andar International had the pleasure of installing and training the staff of Kingston Public Hospital and St. Ann's Bay Hospital on new emergency medical equipment in the spring of 2021. The hospitals received defibrillators and patient monitors by Nihon Kohden, a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge medical equipment based in Japan.
The equipment serves to revive patients experiencing cardiac arrest and monitor their vital signs. In addition, Nihon Kohden's proprietary software screens for heart rate irregularities and blood volume deficiencies.
Andar International, a key distributor of medical equipment in the Caribbean and the exclusive distributor for Nihon Kohden in the Caribbean, provided installation and hands-on training as part of their standard service package. Andar offers installation, training, complimentary trouble-shooting, and factory-certified preventative maintenance and repair.
Nihon Kohden's product line includes ventilators, patient monitors, central stations, EKG, EEG, EMG, defibrillators, and AED machines. Nihon Kohden is Japan’s only developer and manufacturer of bi-phasic type defibrillators, and has developed their own proprietary defibrillation technologies.
The defibrillators have use in several clinical departments, including Accident and Emergency (A&E or ER), Surgery & Operating Theatres, and the ICU.
